“Patrick, Lauri, and the entire family do an amazing job at Magnus Lupus Kennels working with you to find the perfect German Shepherd for your needs. When we first went out to visit them in person they didn’t have any puppies available but took the time to show us their stud male Bernardo, along with their female Christa and break down everything about the breed: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Throughout the entire process they kept in touch with us asking exactly what we wanted and showing us examples of previous puppies and how their coloration changed, personality developed, and how they were interpreting exactly what we were saying we wanted so there were no translation issues. They sent us weekly picture updates along with information on the personalities of the puppies we were interested in which we always looked forward to!

When it came to pickup up a puppy it wasn’t a 30 minute time slot we spent more than 2 hours playing with all the puppies; seeing them before a nap, after a nap, and got to work with them a little bit as well to see their trainability. They were even willing to keep the puppy until 10 weeks rather than 8 as our current German Shepherd was recovering from her spay appointment.

Finally, when it came to pick up our puppy I actually almost ran out of power on my phone and they let me borrow a charger to ensure I got home safe. They truly are a balance of a world class breeder with the love and compassion of a family breeder. I told them that I was wanting a dog exactly like their stud male: a secure, confident dog who could be an alpha but also be a family dog. Once that is just as comfortable training or swimming as he is going for a nice slow walk or snuggling on the couch and they delivered.
